Barny the Fruitbat was the mascot for the Ballycastle Bats Quidditch team in the 20th-21st century.

Barny was featured in advertisements for Butterbeer, with the slogan Barny says: I'm just batty about Butterbeer![1]
At some point during the 2008–2009 school year, Barney participated in the mascot showcase at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where he was witnessed by a Muggle-born student and their friends.[3]
