Bat spleens can be used as an ingredient certain potions, such as the Swelling Solution. They can be purchased from the Apothecary at one Galleon each.[1]
History[]
On 31 July 1991, on Harry Potters first trip to Diagon Alley, he saw a barrel of bat spleens in the window of a shop.[2] A jar of them was seen on the floor of the First-Floor Girls' Toilets during the troll attack that same year.[1] They were also used in Potion-making,[1] Professor Snape kept a jar of them in his office.[1]
