Bath is a city located in Somerset, a county in the West Country of southwestern England at the edge of the Cotswolds hills, near Bristol. Bath was so named because it was once home to an elaborate Roman public bath, fed by Britain's only hot springs.[1]
History[]
Bath buns were produced in Bath.
In the 19th century, a famous branch of the Pinch-Smedley family was based in Bath. The family were known for their contributions to art, science, and astronomy in the wizarding world.[2]
In 1992, Ron Weasley told Harry Potter a story he had heard about a witch in Bath who had owned a book that had been bewitched so that the reader could never stop reading it.[3]
In 1994, Rubeus Hagrid offered Harry and Ron Bath buns, a pastry associated with the city, with their tea. They declined due to their poor experiences with Hagrid's cooking.[4]
