- "I mean to say, it is not a travelling cloak imbued with a Disillusionment Charm, or carrying a Bedazzling Hex, or else woven from Demiguise hair, which will hide one initially but fade with the years until it turns opaque."
- — Xenophilius mentioning the spell while comparing the Cloak of Invisibility to other Invisibility Cloaks[src]
The Bedazzling Hex (incantation unknown) was a hex which was used to disguise things, effectively making them invisible. It could be cast on a cloak to turn it into an Invisibility Cloak, though, like most Invisibility Cloaks, the effectiveness would wear off over time.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
- It is unknown why this spell is considered a hex, as it does not seem to cause any form of harm to the target or an individual, and it seems to heavily resemble a charm. It may be because it would fool any potential onlookers, taunting them.
- It is also unknown how this spell's effects differs from the Disillusionment Charm, as they appear to be the same or extremely similar.
