A bee is a flying insect closely related to wasps and ants, and are known for their role in pollination and for producing honey and beeswax.[4] There existed an unidentified creature resembling a bee.[5]
The Bee-Sting Jinx was a jinx that caused the target's skin to swell and turn pink, similar to the effect of a bee sting.[3] The packaging of Fizzing Whizzbees, a Queenbee sweet, contains pictures of bees with human heads.[6]
History[]
The Weasley family kept beehives in a small forestal area in Ottery St Catchpole, by The Burrow.[7]
In the 1992–1993 school year, after being accused for attacking Justin Finch-Fletchley and Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington by petrifying them, Harry Potter was sent to the Headmaster's office. While there, he met the Sorting Hat, which asked if he had a "bee in your [his] bonnet".[8]
On 1 August 1997, butterflies and bees were hovering lazily over the grass and hedgerow on the property of The Burrow as the Wedding of Bill Weasley and Fleur Delacour kicked off.[9]
