This biography was written about Ignatia Wildsmith, the inventor of Floo powder, by at most the 1989–1990 school year. It contained a story from Ignatia's time at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in which she was faced with a particularly challenging riddle from the eagle door knocker and had to spend two days sleeping in the corridor outside the Ravenclaw common room.[1]
History[]
By the 1989–1990 school year, a copy of this biography was kept in Helena Ravenclaw's personal archive at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Helena allowed Tulip Karasu to read this book along with several others in her archive when she was having doubts about whether she had been sorted into the correct house, with Ignatia's story helping to assuage Tulip's fears that she didn't belong in Ravenclaw house.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
- Given that most of the books in Helena Ravenclaw's personal archive were written by Ravenclaws, it is likely that the author of this biography was a member of Ravenclaw house as well.[1]
