- "With just one drop, you'll revitalise your crop!"
- — The potion's marketing slogan[src]
Blight-B-Gone was a potion developed and sold by the Dark wizard, thief, and conman, Alistair Fidgen, following a blight spreading that made all the crops around Hogsmeade rot. The potion would supposedly remove the blight. He sold the potion for two Galleons per vial, and didn't offer refunds.[1]
History[]
After discovering that Carmen Malum, a hag, had recently moved into Hogsmeade, Fidgen came up with a plan to make money. He brewed this potion and then freed Noggin, Carmen's pet Nogtail, which predictably caused a blight. Jacob's sibling eventually discovered the incident and captured Fidgen, turning him over to the authorities.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
- Given Alistair's reputation, it is unlikely that this potion did anything beneficial, if it did anything at all.
