The boarhound, also known as the Great Dane, is a large breed of dog used historically for hunting wild boars.[1] Rubeus Hagrid's pet, Fang, was a boarhound, described as "enormous" and "black".[2]
Behind the scenes[]
- In the Harry Potter films, Fang is portrayed by a Neapolitan Mastiff named Hugo, not by a boarhound.
