The Body for Protection of Magical Species was a department in the Magical Congress of the United States of America that preserves the protection of magical creatures.[1] It is the American equivalent to the British Ministry of Magic's Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures.
History
In 1892, the Head of the Body for Protection of Magical Species was Irene Kneedander. Many historians believe she was responsible for starting the Sasquatch rebellion that year as she interpreted her role as to involve attacking any Sasquatch that stepped out of line. The Sasquatch attacked Washington in return resulting in many Obliviations and MACUSA headquarters having to be repaired extensively. As a result, MACUSA eventually had to move to the Woolworth Building.[1]
