The Bonaventure was an English merchant ship active in the early 17th century.

It set sail from London, England, on 2 January, 1634,[1] bound for Virginia. Among the passengers, posing as "William Sayre", was Gormlaith Gaunt, on a quest to track down her niece Isolt Sayre at Ilvermorny, to kill her and to take her daughters back to Ireland.[2]

Behind the scenes

  • The merchant ship Bonaventure did, in real-life history, have a "William Sayer" listed on her passenger manifest.[1]
