- "You, young potioneer, hold in your hands my masterpiece. With it, my place in history is assured."
- — Zygmunt Budge, Book of Potions[src]
The Book of Potions was a book concerned with the magic of potion-making,[3] written by the Potioneer Zygmunt Budge.[1] Like with Miranda Goshawk's Book of Spells, this potions book had the ability to conjure utensils with which the reader could brew the various potions included.[3] It also happened to be a portkey that provided access to an enchanted garden, inhabited by a troll.[3] A copy was kept in Hogwarts Library.[4]
History[]
During the Calamity in the late 2010s or early 2020s, a Calamity Investigator working for the Statute of Secrecy Task Force reviewed their copy of this book and found a passage suggesting that agitating a potion might sometimes be better than simply stirring it. The investigator eventually managed to locate a cauldron-sized lid after a prolonged search and tried following the book's advice. Although they spilled their potion a few times, this methodology helped reduce the brewing time for their Strong Exstimulo Potion.[6]
