Boot was the surname of a wizarding family. It is unknown if they were pure-blood, or if they had some Muggle heritage. The family was most famous for its involvement in the founding of Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, although Webster Boot, one of the co-founders, later returned to Great Britain where his descendants would be educated at Hogwarts.[1] The family was also well-known for producing Albert Boot, a Minister for Magic.
The British side of the family was distantly related to the Calderon-Boot family after the marriage of Chadwick Boot and Josefina Calderon, remaining one of the most prominent families in the United States of America today.[1]
