This message was written by an unknown individual and placed into a bottle which was then tossed out into the Great Lake, as some students occasionally did when they needed help.[1]
History[]
Despite being sealed in a bottle, the message was almost illegible due to waterlogging, and much of it was lost. The only legible words remaining were "HELP ME!". During the late 1980s, Ben Copper discovered this bottle, as it had washed up onto the shore. Concerned that someone was in danger, he showed it to Jacob's sibling. Together, the pair searched for the sender. Instead of finding the sender, they instead discovered another message.[1]
