- "Everybody got up late on Boxing Day. The Gryffindor common room was much quieter than it had been lately, many yawns punctuating the lazy conversations."
- — Description[src]
Boxing Day is a holiday celebrated on 26 December, concurrent with St Stephen's Day.[1] Pygmy Puffs were known to sing on this day.[2]
History[]
1986[]
On Boxing Day in 1986, Rubeus Hagrid showed Jacob's sibling Puffskeins that sang together after being attracted by scraps from the Christmas Feast.[3] Due to a rumour about Severus Snape not receiving any Christmas present,[4] Jacob's sibling got inspired by the singing Puffskeins and made a Holiday Blancmange with Charlie Weasley for Professor Snape as a Boxing Day present.[3]
1994[]
On Boxing Day in 1994, Harry Potter found in his dormitory an arm that looked as though it had been broken off a miniature figurine of Viktor Krum, apparently a result of Ronald Weasley's anger at his attending the Yule Ball with Hermione Granger the previous night.[5]
