The Brazilian National Quidditch team is the national Quidditch team of Brazil. Their mascots for the 2014 Quidditch World Cup final were Curupiras.

Flag

The flag of Brazil is a blue disc depicting a starry sky spanned by a curved band inscribed with the national motto ("Order and Progress", on a free translation), within a yellow rhombus, on a green field.

History

20th Century

They reached the quarter-finals of the Quidditch World Cup in the 20th century. Brazil competed in the four-hundred and twenty-second Quidditch World Cup, in 1994.[2]

2014

Brazil qualified for the 2014 Quidditch World Cup. Shortly before the opening games in April, manager José Barboza called the Welsh Chasers "talentless hags". After Welsh manager Gwenog Jones threatened to "curse [Barbosa's] face off", Barbosa insisted his original remark had been taken out of context.[3] The team rode Varápidos brooms.[1] They defeated Haiti on May 15th to qualify for the quarterfinals, then beat Wales on June 4th to qualify for the semifinals, and beat the U.S.A. on July 5th to enter the final
