The break-in of the Locked Room occurred at the end of the 1984–1985 school year.[1]
History[]
The room was broken in by Jacob's sibling, Rowan Khanna and with either Ben Copper or Penny Haywood, who were followed by Merula Snyde in the hope of finding the Cursed Vaults. They got past Mrs Norris, who was watching the corridor, by sending her to sleep using Sleeping Draught mixed with milk.[1]
Once in the room, Jacob's sibling rescued Merula and their friends from being trapped in the cursed ice. However, the group found themselves trapped in the room by ice blocking the door and freezing it shut. After getting the door open with help from the chosen friend, Rowan discovered some code in runes written on the wall, which was later deciphered, revealing that there was an Ice Knight who stood guard past the Vanished Stairs.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
- If Ben is chosen to accompany the group, he would break the ice with the Knockback Jinx with the coaxing of Jacob's sibling; if Penny is chosen, she would take the Strengthening Solution which would give her the strength she needs to pull the door open.
