Into the Fire was the name given to an event of the Calamity.[1]
Part I (20-27 September, 2021)[]
While Ron recovers his memories of his fourth year at Hogwarts, the team pores over Gareth's journals for information on The Unforgivable. What will they learn about the shadowy organisation and its mysterious leader?[1]
Brilliant Quidditch World Cup Pitch[]
- "I'm still having a hard time processing that Gareth Greengrass is dead. Were you able to figure out what happened to him, Harry?"
- — Constance Pickering[src]
- "His journal confirmed what Hermione and I both suspected. Gareth made an Unbreakable Vow to not do anything that would jeopardise The Unforgivable's mission or reveal their members' identities."
- — Harry Potter[src]
- "The documents Gareth left behind are full of compromising information. Gareth's Vow must have broken the moment Harry started reading through them."
- — Hermione Granger[src]
- "Gareth had to know what would happen should he give Harry that information. Was he prepared to die if it meant ensuring his daughter got the treatment she needed for her blood malediction?"
- — Constance Pickering[src]
- "Gareth was far from a hero, but I won't let his sacrifice be in vain. While we work on returning Ron's memories of our fourth year at Hogwarts, we should keep combing through his writings. I'm confident they contain the keys to exposing the rest of The Unforgivable and ending the Calamity."
- — Harry Potter[src]

Quidditch World Cup Return To: Quidditch World Cup Stadium, Dartmoor, England |
The Quidditch World Cup is Quidditch's premier event. Every four years, sixteen teams face off in a knockout-style tournament to determine which team is the best in the world. The winner receives the highly coveted Quidditch World Cup, an honour Ireland took home in 1994. Harry Potter attended the final game of that series in Dartmoor with the Weasley family. |

Brilliant Omnioculars Return To: Quidditch World Cup Stadium, Dartmoor, England |
A common sight at Quidditch matches, Omnioculars allow fans to get a closer look at all the action on the pitch. These enchanted devices can zoom in, slow everything down, replay action, and even flash up a play-by-play breakdown. Harry Potter bought a pair as a present for Ron Weasley during the 1994 Quidditch World Cup. |

Bulgarian Seeker Viktor Krum Return To: Quidditch World Cup Stadium, Dartmoor, England |
At just eighteen years old, Viktor Krum had already made a name for himself as one of the greatest Seekers in the world. During his tenure on the Bulgarian National Quidditch team, he managed to lead his team to the Quidditch World Cup finals three times, ultimately bringing home the victory for Bulgaria in 2014. Krum also competed as the representative of Durmstrang during the 1994 Triwizard Tournament. |

Boot Portkey Return To: Stoatshead Hill, Ottery St Catchpole, Devon, England |
Portkeys like this one are objects enchanted to instantly bring anyone touching it to a predetermined location. Because they often resemble everyday objects, Portkeys are a useful way to travel long distances without garnering unwanted attention from Muggles. This old boot was used to transport the Diggory and Weasley families, among others, from Stoatshead Hill in Ottery St Catchpole to Dartmoor for the 1994 Quidditch World Cup. |

Team Ireland Fan Fred Weasley Return To: Quidditch World Cup Stadium, Dartmoor, England |
Fred Weasley rooted for Ireland during the 1994 Quidditch World Cup. His support ran so deep that he donned this colourful face paint and bet his life savings on Ireland winning despite Viktor Krum catching the Golden Snitch. Despite winning his wager against Ludo Bagman, Ludo defaulted on the debt, forcing Fred to look for alternate ways to secure his winnings. |

- "Ministries around the world have agreed to issue warrants for the arrest of everyone Gareth named as members of The Unforgivable in his journals. Raids have also begun on places Gareth confirmed The Unforgivable operate."
- — Harry Potter[src]
- "That's excellent news, Harry! How goes your investigation into their leader's identity, Hermione?"
- — Constance Pickering[src]
- "I searched newspapers, birth records, the transcripts of all the major wizarding schools, and decades' worth of wand permits. There was no evidence of a wizard named "Theus" ever existing. Their leader has either lived his whole life out of the public eye or "Theus" is an assumed name."
- — Hermione Granger[src]
- "Wait a moment. Gareth suspected that the person currently claiming to be The Unforgivable's leader is actually another member using Polyjuice Potion to assume his identity. So not only is the current Theus not Theus, but the one who's supposed to be Theus isn't either?"
- — Constance Pickering[src]
- "Confusing, isn't it? Seems these two imposters were more alike than Gareth thought."
- — Hermione Granger[src]
Adversaries Event: Ancient Hungarian Horntail Adversaries and Dragons[]
Part II (4-11 October, 2021)[]
Based on Gareth's theory that only Grim can stop the Calamity, the team shifts their focus to locating him. But does the missing wizard even want to be found?[1]
Brilliant Triwizard Tournament Maze[]
- "I'm afraid I've got some disappointing news on our hunt for the rest of The Unforgivable. None of the locations we raided turned up anything of value. If The Unforgivable were operating out of these places, as Gareth's intel suggested, they'd since abandoned them.
We haven't had much success tracking down any of the people Gareth identified as members of The Unforgivable either. While Aurors have detained a few both domestically and abroad, most have managed to elude capture." - — Harry Potter[src]
- "Rather convenient, isn't it? Almost as if they were warned about our investigation ahead of time and preemptively went into hiding. Even without Gareth, The Unforgivable still manage to be one step ahead of us."
- — Hermione Granger[src]
- "As long as the Calamity continues, the Statute of Secrecy will be at risk and The Unforgivable will keep using it to gain power. Since we've reached a bit of an impasse with The Unforgivable, wouldn't it make sense to shift our focus to ending the Calamity instead?"
- — Constance Pickering[src]
- "You have a point. But if Gareth's theory that only the one who originally cast the Foundables Spell can stop the Calamity is correct, that would require finding Grim..."
- — Harry Potter[src]

Brilliant Blastended Skrewt Return To: Triwizard Tournament Maze, Hogwarts Castle |
Rubeus Hagrid created this hybrid magical creature by cross-breeding Manticores and Fire Crabs. Brilliant Welsh Green Return To: Brecon Beacons Mountain Range, Wales |
Welse Green are considered one of the most subdued breeds of dragon. They are native to the hills and mountains of Wales and tend to prey on sheep and small mammals rather than humans. Fleur Delacour faced off against one such dragon in the First Task of the 1994 Triwizard Tournament. She expertly placed it under a magical slumber and safely retrieved the golden egg it was guarding. |

Transfigured Draco Malfoy Return To: Courtyard, Hogwarts Castle |
Launching a spell at another's back is often looked down upon as a cowardly move. Draco Malfoy learned this lesson the hard way in his fourth year at Hogwarts. After attempting to attack an unaware Harry Potter, Barty Crouch Jr, disguised as Professor Alastor Moody, intervened. He transfigured Malfoy into a ferret and levitated him as punishment. |
| |
Starting Cannon Return To: Triwizard Maze, Hogwarts Grounds |
This cannon was used to signal the start of all three tasks during the 1994 Triwizard Tournament. Hogwarts Caretaker Argus Filch accidentally fired it off early during the First Task, which nearly caused the tent around him to collapse. |
| |
Amos Diggory Return To: Triwizard Maze, Hogwarts Grounds |
Amos Diggory was an employee of the Ministry's Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures and the proud father of Hogwarts Triwizard Champion, Cedric Diggory. Known to frequently boast about his son, Amos was devastated to learn of Cedric's death at the hands of Voldemort at the end of the Triwizard Tournament. Amos was inconsolable over the loss of his son and sources report that he's never fully moved on. |

- "If Grim is telling the truth and The Unforgivable really are holding Penelope captive, then I doubt we'll have much success convincing him to stop the Calamity."
- — Hermione Granger[src]
- "We're running into a similar problem with the few members of The Unforgivable we've managed to find and detain. Like Gareth, they've all made Unbreakable Vows to protect the cabal's secrets. Even if they were willing to talk, they'd likely die before revealing anything of value."
- — Harry Potter[src]
- "Say what you want about The Unforgivable, but they certainly know how to cover their goalposts."
- — Constance Pickering[src]
- "Grim is our best bet for containing both the Calamity and The Unforgivable. We have to get him to cooperate."
- — Hermione Granger[src]
- "Then we only have one option: we have to find and rescue Penelope."
