Secrets Revealed was the name given to an event of the Calamity.[1]

Part I (26 July–2 August, 2021)[]

Harry and Hermione's quest to restore Ron's memories continues with a surge themed around their second year. Unfortunately, their plan to convict Greengrass stall. Will he be brought to justice or go free?[1]

Brilliant Hogwarts Hospital Wing[]

"Any luck getting information out of Gareth Greengrass?"
Hermione Granger[src]
"No, he's barely said a word since we took him into custody under suspicion of being a member of The Unforgivable. When he does speak, it's only to proclaim his innocence."
Harry Potter[src]
"This isn't good, Harry. A confession made under the influence of Veritaserum won't hold up in court, especially not one obtained so... unconventionally. With our only other evidence circumstantial and no paper trail to be found, I'm not sure how much longer we can legally detain him."
Hermione Granger[src]
"I know. It doesn't help that a number of Ministry officials, particularly those within the Department of Mysteries who have worked with Gareth for years, are calling for his release. Some even claim we used the Imperius Curse to get a false confession out of him."
Harry Potter[src]
"We don't have time to entertain rumours. Don't forget, we still need to use this surge to restore Ron's memories of our second year of Hogwarts. Any moment we don't spend getting Gareth to talk, we should spend helping Ron."
Hermione Granger[src]

Brilliant Slytherin Seeker Draco Malfoy
Return To: Slytherin common room, Hogwarts Castle
Draco Malfoy began playing Quidditch during his second year at Hogwarts. He was selected to be the Slytherin Quidditch Team's Seeker, a position that frequently put him at odds with Harry Potter on the Gryffindor Quidditch team. Though Draco was no slouch on the Quidditch pitch, there is some speculation that his father's donation of a fleet of Nimbus 2001 brooms secured his position on the team.
Harry Potter: "You're only making things worse for yourself by not talking, Gareth. We know you've been conspiring against the Ministry as a member of The Unforgivable and we have evidence to prove it."
Gareth Greengrass: "If that true, then I'd be on my way to Azkaban instead of locked away in a holding cell, now wouldn't I?
No, the real truth of is you're desperate to blame someone for your team's lack of results. So you're using leading questions to entrap a man who has done nothing but devote himself to the wizarding community for decades.
"
Harry Potter: "You destroyed countless lives and helped unleash the Calamity upon the world. How can you sit there and pretend that you're the victim in this situation?"
Gareth Greengrass: "It's simple: I'm not pretending."

Brilliant Flesh-Eating Slugs
Return To: Hagrid's cabbage patch, Hogwarts Castle
Flesh-eating slugs are magical creatures have been known to inhabit the grounds of Hogwarts. Rubeus Hagrid once remarked that they had a particular fondness for the school's cabbage patch. Unlike the slugs Ron vomited in his second year, these slugs excrete a corrosive mucus and are best removed by a specialised repellent.
Ron Weasley: "I've been thinking. Do you and Hermione really need to return all of my memories? I can't help but feel I would've been better off not knowing what it feels like to vomit slug."
Harry Potter: "Sorry, Ron. I honestly thought you'd get a laugh out of remembering."
Ron Weasley: "Easy for you to say, you're blissfully unaware of the taste of Slug slime. I don't think I'll ever be able to look at green jelly the same way again."
— Discussion[src]
Brilliant Polyjuiced Hermione Granger
Return To: Second-floor girls' lavatory, Hogwarts Castle
An advanced student, Hermione Granger was capable of brewing Polyjuice Potion by her second year. She put this skill to use during an attempt to sneak into the Slytherin common room to ascertain the identity of Slytherin's heir. While Harry Potter and Ron Weasley successfully transformed into Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle, Hermione's transformation did not go as planned. She spent several weeks in the Hospital Wing recovering after she accidentally used a piece of Millicent Bulstrode's cat's hair in her Polyjuice Potion.
Constance Pickering: "Know how Greengrass still uses an owl to deliver his interdepartmental memos? Well, I always assumed it was because he was old-fashioned. But one of Harry's Aurors uncovered that Gareth's "owl" was actually a Transfigured potions cabinet!
Inside were bottles of Polyjuice Potion. A few Aurors volunteered to test them. Curiously, one transformed into the Editor-in-chief of the Daily Prophet. Another transformed into you.
"
Hermione Granger: "I knew he was involved with Ron's abduction! Now that we have evidence to prove it, we have legal justification for continuing to detain him."
Constance Pickering: "There's still one thing I don't understand. The Aurors noted that a bottle of Polyjuice Potion appeared to have been recently tampered with, but Gareth's been detained for almost a month. He couldn't have done it."
Hermione Granger: "I better alert Harry. I think Gareth's trying to escape."
— Discussion[src]
Brilliant Petrified Colin Creevey
Return To: Hospital Wing, Hogwarts
Colin Creevey was a first-year Gryffindor when the Chamber of Secrets was opened for the second time. An avid photographer, Colin could often be found taking pictures of his favourite subject, Harry Potter. During an attempt to sneak into the Hospital Wing to give Harry grapes, Colin encountered Slytherin's Basilisk. Though he was Petrified as a result, his camera's lens saved him from the full effects of the Basilisk's deadly gaze.
Hermione Granger: "I'm convinced you've been dreaming of Gareth Greengrass's memories after Adversary surges. Remember the one where Millicent Bagnold accused the suspect's brother of being Death Eater? Well, Gareth just so happens to have a brother in Azkaban indicted on the same charge.
Gareth was also close to Grim. He would've had plenty of opportunity to manipulate Grim into casting the Foundables Spell.
"
Harry Potter: "You mentioned a few months ago that Gareth had a daughter he seemed reluctant to talk about. Could that be the blood malediction-inflicted daughter our suspect pleaded with Healer Maud Ashborn to cure?"
Hermione Granger: "That's my belief, yes, which also makes Gareth the prime suspect in Maud's murder."
Harry Potter: "We thought the Mole within the Ministry was just an informant for The Unforgivable. But the London Five's disappearance, the Calamity, Adversaries... It's was Gareth all along."
— Discussion[src]
Brilliant Ron Weasley’s Taped Wand
Return To: Ronald Weasley
During his second year at Hogwarts, Ron Weasley broke his wand in an accident involving his father's flying car and the school's Whomping Willow. Despite his attempt to repair it with Spello-tape, its magical capabilities were damaged beyond repair. Spells cast using the wand frequently backfired, a feature that actually ended up sparing Ron's memories.
Ron Weasley: "I'm not sure what I'm more gobsmacked to remember - that this isn't the first time my memories were almost completely Obliviated or that you fancied Gilderoy Lockhart."
Hermione Granger: "I was really hoping you wouldn't remember that... In any case, I don't know if I'd go so far as to say I fancied him. Professional admiration, perhaps..."
Ron Weasley: ""Professional admiration", my wand. You outlined all of Lockhart's lessons in your timetable with little hearts, Hermione. Little hearts."
Hermione Granger: "I suppose I have a weakness for gits with charming smiles."
Ron Weasley: "You really think I have a charming smile? ...Hey!"
— Discussion[src]
"Where are you off to in such a hurry, Edward? Or should I say "Gareth"?"
Harry Potter[src]
"I... I beg your pardon?"
Edward Scot[src]
"Drop the act, Gareth. I know you talked a naive well-wisher into sneaking you your wand, used the Imperius Curse to force your guard to set you free, and are attempting to escape using Polyjuice Potion."
Harry Potter[src]
"Have you lost your bloody mind? I don't even know who this "Gareth" is!"
— Edward Scot[src]
"I haven't lost anything, Gareth. But you? You're about to lose you freedom, your friends' trust, your future... I hope The Unforgivable were worth it."
Harry Potter[src]

Adversaries Event: Peter Pettigrew[]

Part II (9–16 August, 2021)[]

Greengrass refuses to divulge information on The Unforgivable, leaving Harry, Hermione and Constance at a loss. Will the team be able to get through to Gareth and convince him to cooperate?[1]

Brilliant Aragog's Lair[]

"As expected, "Edward Scot" transformed back into Gareth Greengrass as soon as his Polyjuice Potion wore off. I've done some digging since then. As it turns out, there is no wizard named Edward Scot. He's actually a persona Gareth created using Muggle Kensington Millbottom's appearance."
Harry Potter[src]
"So Gareth was cavorting around as the Head Unspeakable, a member of The Unforgivable and the Lead Liaison Minister of the Department of International Magical Co-operation all at the same time? When did he get any sleep?"
Constance Pickering[src]
"He'll have plenty of time to catch up on it now. Thanks to his escape attempt and the Polyjuice Potion linking him to Ron's abduction, we have legal grounds to continue to detain him."
Hermione Granger[src]
"True, but we still haven't convinced Gareth to cooperate. Without his insider information, it'll be difficult to shut down the rest of The Unforgivable, find Grim Fawley, rescue the London Five and stop the Calamity."
Harry Potter[src]
"Intimidation and bargaining hasn't worked. Why don't we try a more empathetic approach to get him to talk? I suspect he'll be more receptive to that than any drastic interrogation measures."
Constance Pickering[src]
Images Name Description Remarks
Brilliant Rubeus Hagrid
Return To: Hagrid's Hut, Hogwarts Castle
Rubeus Hagrid was a third year student at Hogwarts when the Chamber of Secrets was first opened. Tom Riddle, the one responsible for the Petrifications and the death of Myrtle Warren, placed the blame on Hagrid and his pet Acromantula, Aragog. Though Hagrid was expelled, Albus Dumbledore intervened and Hagrid was allowed to stay on as Hogwarts Gamekeeper. Suspicion towards Hagrid arose again when the Chamber was re-opened in 1993. While he was sent to Azkaban for a time, Hagrid was eventually proven innocent.
Harry Potter: "Your suggestion to get Gareth to talk by empathising with him is proving easier said than done, Constance. How can I possibly sympathise with someone who's caused so much harm?"
Constance Pickering: "You mentioned Gareth has a daughter with a blood malediction, didn't you? As a father yourself, wouldn't you do everything you could to heal your child? Even possibly join a cabal of Dark witches and wizards?"
Harry Potter: "He very likely murdered a Healer because she wouldn't help him, Constance. He had Ron and the London Five abducted. This isn't a thief who steals because he can't afford to feed his family otherwise."
Constance Pickering: "You're right, Gareth has done some truly reprehensible things. But you don't have to condone his actions to sympathise with him. You lived his life in your dreams and felt all of his emotions. Why don't you try tapping into that?"
Harry Potter: "I suppose it can't hurt to try."
— Discussion[src]
Brilliant Acromantula eggs
Return To: Forbidden Forest, Hogwarts
Acromantula eggs are, on average, roughly the size of beach balls. Female Acromantulas are capable of laying up to one hundred eggs at a time, resulting in rather large familial colonies. Aragog, Rubeus Hagrid's pet Acromantula, established one such colony in the Forbidden Forest with his mate, Mosag.
Gareth Greengrass: "I figured it was only a matter of time before the Auror Office would grow tired of playing by the rules. Though I'm surprised the Golden Boy Who Lived is the one who will be getting his hands dirty."
Harry Potter: "I haven't come to interrogate you, Gareth. I just want to talk about your daughter, Cereus. She suffers from a serious blood malediction, doesn't she?"
Gareth Greengrass: "How do you know that?"
Harry Potter: "When you tapped into my memories to create Adversaries, bits and pieces of yours leaked through. Cereus is why you desperately sought out the Foundables Spell, isn't it? Because you thought it'd give you what you desired most  - a cure for a supposedly incurable curse?"
Gareth Greengrass: "If you've been in my head as much as you say, then you already know the answer to that, don't you?"
— Discussion[src]
Brilliant Fang
Return To: Hagrid's Hut, Hogwarts Castle
It's said that dog is man's best friend, and never was this more true than with Rubeus Hagrid and Fang. Fang was a large, black dog Hagrid raised from a pup. Despite what his name and his booming bark would suggest, he was quite cowardly. Even so, Fang accompanied Harry Potter and Ron Weasley - albeit reluctantly - on many adventures, including into the Forbidden Forest.
Gareth Greengrass: "If you've come to make me talk, I hope you're prepared to use force. Otherwise I'm afraid you've wasted your time."
Hermione Granger: "You have nothing to gain by continuing to protect The Unforgivable, Gareth. But if you tell us about them and their plans, we may be able to lessen your sentence."
Gareth Greengrass: "No amount of commutation is worth the price of talking. Either find something that is, or prepare to do the Unforgivable."
— Discussion[src]
Brilliant Wild Weasley’s Flying Car
Return To: Forbidden Forest, Hogwarts
Arthur Weasley's flying car was once an ordinary Muggle vehicle. Through a questionable decision, Arthur magically modified it to fly and turn invisible. After missing the Hogwarts Express in their second year, Harry Potter and Ron Weasley flew it to Hogwarts, where it crashed into the Whomping Willow. Afterwards it escaped into the Forbidden Forest, only reappearing to rescue Harry, Ron, and Fang from Aragog's children.
Ron Weasley: "I can't believe we were rescued from a den of bloodthirsty spiders by an autonomous, flying Muggle car. Were our adventures together all this mad?"
Harry Potter: "Let's just say our Hogwarts years were never dull."
Ron Weasley: "If the alternative is nearly dying, I can't help but wonder if I might've preferred dull..."
— Discussion[src]
Brilliant Aragog’s Children
Return To: Forbidden Forest, Hogwarts
Aragog, along with his wife, Mosag, sired a sizeable Acromantula colony in the Forbidden Forest. Having been raised by Rubeus Hagrid, Aragog instructed his many children to do Hagrid no harm. Anyone else who wandered into their den would inevitably find themselves pursued by hordes of young Acromantula.
Harry Potter: "Have you been able to recall any more memories of our second year, Ron?"
Ron Weasley: "Yes, I remember you talking me into following a trail of spiders into the Forbidden Forest, despite knowing full well how afraid I am of them."
Harry Potter: "It all worked out in the end, didn't it? We found out Hagrid was falsely accused of opening the Chamber of Secrets and we didn't get eaten by Acromantula."
Ron Weasley: "True, but I had nightmares for months afterward. Acromantulas under my bed, Acromantulas chasing me on brooms, Acromantulas dressed like Snape teaching me Potions...
Why spiders? Why couldn't it have been "follow the butterflies"?
"

Mysterious Note[]

Name Remarks
1st piece
"Hermione, that last Foundable left behind this scrap of parchment. Reckon this is another message from The Unforgivable?"
Constance Pickering[src]
"We did ignore the threat in their last one. This could very well be their response."
Hermione Granger[src]
"I suppose there's only one way to find out..."
Constance Pickering[src]
5nd piece
"The more pieces of this note we recover, the more I suspect it was written by Grim rather than The Unforgivable. Take a look, this is his handwriting, isn't it?"
Constance Pickering[src]
"Either that or an impressive imitation, yes. Does that say "be careful"?"
Hermione Granger[src]
"It's a bit hard to read, but yes, I believe so. Could Grim be trying to send us another warning?"
Constance Pickering[src]
Final piece
"Now that we've reassembled the entire note, we can finally make out its contents. Let's see... "Gareth is only the beginning. Be careful and look within."
"Gareth is only the beginning"? Is Grim trying to tell us that our battle with The Unforgivable is far from over?
"
Constance Pickering[src]
"It certainly sounds like he is, doesn't it? He also appears to imply that The Unforgivable are more embedded amongst us than we realise."
Hermione Granger[src]
"I wish Grim would just tell us what we ought to know rather than sending us vague hints about it. It would sure make our jobs easier."
Constance Pickering[src]
"The more Grim reaches out, the more I wonder where he is and how he's getting this information in the first place. Is he trapped? In hiding? If he's in trouble, why won't he tell us how we can help him?"
Hermione Granger[src]
"You've done terrible things, Gareth. Unforgivable things deserving of a life sentence in Azkaban. But while I absolutely don't condone what you did, I understand why you felt you had no choice but to do them.
You were desperate to cure your daughter's blood malediction. And, as you once told me, desperation drives people to do things they'd never be capable of otherwise.
"
Harry Potter[src]
"Is this the part where you offer to help Cereus in exchange for my cooperation?"
Gareth Greengrass[src]
"No, this is where I give you my word that, regardless of your cooperation, I'll reopen your brother's case and do everything in my power to find a cure for Cereus. Not because I expect anything from it, but because it's the right thing to do."
Harry Potter[src]
"I know better than to believe the word of a Ministry employee... but something tells me you're not lying. Perhaps we can reach an agreement after all, Harry Potter..."
Gareth Greengrass[src]
