The Quidditch Cup was an event of the Calamity which focused around the Inter-House Quidditch Cup at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.[1]

Brilliant Hogwarts Trophy Room[]

"Ah, good, I've found you... I'm afraid that Hogwarts need your help.

The final matches of the Inter-House Quidditch Cup are upon us and excitement is running high among the students. Their single-minded focus has attracted the attention of the Calamity.

Regrettably, Hogwarts' Quidditch Cup itself has been taken. I daresay that the Calamity has gone too far this time.

Although we could certainly proceed without the cup, I would hate for the winning house to be denied the honour. Will you help me end this Calamity surge and return the centuries-old cup to Hogwarts?

"One of the Gryffindor Chasers owns an old Nimbus 2000 and feared that her broom would vanish or weaken as a result of becoming a Foundable.

I assured her that the Foundable in question was almost certainly the broom of a former, famous student...

"The Quidditch Cup is such an important symbol of Hogwarts' history and traditions. I believe that I speak for all of the staff and students when I say that we cannot thank you enough for returning the cup to us.

If you happen to be in the area, I'd be pleased if you would join us for the final match of the season!

Brilliant Quidditch Announcer's Boot[]

"Ah, there you are. I'm afraid that I must ask for your help again.

The final match of the Quidditch season approaches, and excitement has reached fever pitch. Not unexpectedly more Quidditch-related Foundables are turning up.

Concern is growing that holding the final match could endanger the students. Some are calling for it to be canceled.

Tn fact, canceling the match could only make matters worse — disappointed students would certainly focus the Calamity's attention.

What do you say will you help me shut down this Calamity surge and save our Quidditch season?

"Miss Lovegood — Mrs Scamander, now. I suppose — has offered to write to the board of governors and let them know that she’s suffering no major effects from being a Foundable.

It’s uncomfortable, yes, but less hazardous than the average Quidditch match or Care of Magical Creatures class!

"You know how seriously I take this Calamity and the safety of Hogwarts' students. If canceling Quidditch would protect them, I'd do that in a heartbeat...

However, cancelling the match could be far more dangerous — the disappointment from the students would actually attract the Calamity to them.
"
Minerva McGonagall[src]
"Thanks to the hard work of the SOS Task Force, I'm pleased to report that the Calamity surge is winding down and the final Quidditch match went off without a hitch.

I know it seems like such a frivolous thing to worry about at a time like this, but we cannot underestimate the power of friendship and tradition to give us strength in times of need.
