Bufo was a witch or wizard who owned Bufo's, a shop in Diagon Alley that specialised in frogs, toads, and other "Batrachian Bargains".[1]
Etymology
Bufo is Latin for "toad". Their name is therefore a play on words relating to their occupation in selling toads and other amphibians.
