The Calamity World Centre[1] was a designation bestowed upon the British Ministry of Magic by the International Confederation of Wizards around 16 November 2018, denoting it as the global headquarters of the Statute of Secrecy Task Force after wizarding governing bodies all over the world begun receiving reports of unexplained magical activity in the non-magic world that were causing magical artefacts, creatures people, even memories, to be whisked away and scattered all throughout Muggle-inhabited areas.[2] Its base of operation was located on Level 2 of the Ministry's premises, in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, at the then newly established SOS Task Force Office.[1] This office was headed by Constance Pickering, who, along with the rest of the SOS Task Force, reported to the Ministry's internal Calamity Management Team.[2]
