Madam Calliope Snelling (fl. 1890) was a witch who ran Madam Snelling's Tress Emporium in Hogsmeade in the late 19th century.[2] She considered herself a tastemaker and overdressed for any occasion.[3]
Biography[]
Madam Snelling had lived in France for three months of her lifetime, after which she considered herself a tastemaker. She later became a hairdresser and proprietress of Madam Snelling's Tress Emporium, as well as a resident of Hogsmeade in the late 19th century.[3]
On 2 September 1890, the first day of the 1890–1891 school year, Madam Snelling was speaking with Sirona Ryan, the proprietress of the Three Broomsticks Inn, when trolls attacked the village.[4]
