Canary Wharf was an industrial district located on the River Thames. In 1995, when Harry Potter went to Grimmauld Place for his hearing, he flew past the skyscrapers of the district before heading further down the Thames, and in June the next year, Thestrals could be seen flying over the skyscrapers if one had seen death.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Although the appearance of the area is set in 1995, so the wharf itself isn't anachronistic, in 2005, during the filming of the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix film, the London Docklands were fully developed, but in that year it wasn't, leading to an anachronism with some, but not all of the buildings in the area.
