This case involved a missing Comet 220 broomstick and was investigated by Jacob's sibling, Skye Parkin, Murphy McNully and Orion Amari.[1]
History[]
After Jacob's sibling's first Quidditch match in the 1985–1986 school year, Skye Parkin got a Comet 260 broomstick from his father, so she wanted to give her old Comet 220 to Jacob's sibling. When they returned to the Changing Room, the broom was missing.[1]
Skye suspected Erika Rath for stealing it, so she and Jacob's sibling sneaked into Erika Rath's House's Common room to find the broom, which ended in failure. They even tried to transfigure a Goldfinch into a Comet broom, but it was transfigured into a real comet instead. McGonagall discovered them, untransfigured the comet and sent them to Dumbledore's office. Dumbledore and Hooch asked them to drop the case.[1]
Murphy McNully received a copy of Which Broomstick? and the team decided to buy Jacob's sibling a new broom. However, Rubeus Hagrid and Penny Haywood met them and told them they had found the Comet. It had actually been chewed up by Hagrid's Crup pups, but the team was amazed at the pups' teamwork and perseverance. They realised Quidditch had been what brought them together and decided to celebrate on the Quidditch pitch.[1]
It surprised Jacob's sibling when they found out Hagrid and Hooch bought them a new Comet 260 broom due to the joint persuasion of the team. Jacob's sibling took a flight on their new broom and made a Broom Drift.[1]
