Non-Pureblood Family Members

Should members of families who are not purebloods themselves (e.g. Rose and Hugo Weasley, Harry Potter) really be listed under "Pure Blood Families"? If they are, I think it should be noted that they are not purebloods themselves. The most problematic, I think, is Lily Potter's inclusion - she is Muggle-born, married into a pureblood family, and she is listed even as someone like Severus Snape, who is a distaff but blood member of the Prince family, is not listed.

I think the ones who are not pure-blood should still be included. But it should probably be noted that they are not pure-bloods themselves. Something like this: Rose Weasley (half-blood) 19:14, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

Birth Family vs. Married Family

Narcissa Malfoy nee Black is listed under the Black family but not the Malfoy family, whereas Alice Longbottom nee Prewett is listed under both Prewett and Longbottom. I don't know which categorization would be better, but it should be more consistent, at least.

In the "other" section, I think, there should be families that either no longer exist (e.g. the Peverells - they died out a long time before the series began; two families that descend from them are already listed) or are not confirmed to be pure-blood families (e.g. Selwyn, Burke). Possibly including status?

I'd like to get others' opinions on this before putting anything in. I think it might be good to include here the status of these families (extinct, extant, etc.), as of, say, 2017, since some of the ones listed would be extinct. The Gaunts, for instance, since it's stated that Marvolo, Morfin, and Merope were the last of Slytherin's descendants, and with Voldemort dead, even the maternal line is extinct. The Blacks also seem to be dead in the male line. So, taking them as an example:

Status: Extinct in male line (continues in female line through Teddy Lupin and Scorpius Malfoy)

Does anyone else think this info should be included, or should the page just be left as is? Oread 05:31, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

I don't have a problem with that, as long as it is clear that said line is extinct. - Cavalier One(Wizarding Wireless Network) 07:31, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Almost all of the families on this page already have their own pages. Listing groups all on the same page is a wikipedian concept that we don't use anymore. I think this page should be split, then deleted.--Matoro183 (Talk) 23:05, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

I wouldn't have a problem with that, though some of the families would end up being left out (unless an article is created for even the minor families, which could easily be done). A category for pure-blood families, within the wizard families category, could be created as well. Also, this page is a bit redundant in light of the table in the pure-blood article. I think that the article should be split and made an Category witihin the Families Category. Seth Cooper 23:29, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
In preparation of this article being split, I've started making new articles for the families that do not have their own pages yet. Oread 21:38, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
Nice. Goods cats.--Matoro183 (Talk) 22:17, 12 July 2008 (UTC)

Has this fully been split now? -- DarkJedi613 (Talk) 22:44, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

Yes.--Matoro183 (Talk) 22:50, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
