Professor Charles Rookwood (fl. 1470s)[6] was a Scottish wizard and a member of the Rookwood family. At some point during the Tudor period, he was the Professor of Transfiguration at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry[5]
Biography[]
Early life[]
Charles was born into the wizarding Rookwood family sometime in the Tudor era. In his youth, he attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry where he was sorted into Slytherin House.[5]
Later life[]
Sometime after finishing school, he became the Professor of Transfiguration at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, During his lifetime, he was a close friend of Percival Rackham; the leader of a secret society dedicated to the protection of ancient magic, of which Charles himself was also a member.[5]
Personality and traits[]
Rookwood considered himself a man of "science" and was guided by hard facts. He was pragmatic, direct, and focused. He was keenly observant and fascinated by the ways in which magic could be altered and used.[5]
Magical abilities and skills[]
- Transfiguration: As a one-time Transfiguration teacher at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Rookwood was knowledgeable of this subject.[5]
- Duelling: Charles along with Percival Rackham duelled Isidora Morganach, with their spells colliding.[7]
Possessions[]
- Wand: Rookwood owned a wand, which he used to build Vault 12.[8]
- Repository: This repository of ancient magic was located beneath Rookwood Castle. It was eventually depleted by Ranrok.[1]
- Rookwood Castle: Charles was the owner of the formidable Rookwood Castle, which stood over the landscape of Feldcroft.[1]
