− | *It has been speculated that James Potter is Charlus Potter's son. [[J. K. However, Rowling also said that James’s parents died of natural causes when they were elderly, but Dorea Potter was only fifty-seven years old when she died. This could simply be a mathematical error, as Rowling has also admitted that maths is not her strong suit. However, James also had a disdainful attitude toward Slytherin house. It is equally possible that Charlus Potter's (and Dorea Potter's) son is simply a relative of James Potter. |
||
+ | *If Harry really didn't have any living relatives other than the Dursleys by 1981, it can be assumed that Charlus, Dorea and their son were all dead by that date. |
||
− | *If James Potter was indeed Charlus Potter's son, then Harry Potter (the son of James Potter and Lily Potter) would be related to many of those close to him. Harry's godfather would be his second cousin, his friend and wife would be his third cousins, and his godson would be his second cousin, twice removed. Harry would also be a cousin of Bellatrix Lestrange, Narcissa Malfoy, Draco Malfoy, Andromeda Tonks, Nymphadora Tonks, Arthur Weasley, and Regulus Black, and a descendant of Phineas Nigellus Black. |

||
− | *However, in the Philosopher's Stone, it is mentioned that Harry Potter has no living family other than the Dursleys, so it is more likely that this Potter may simply be a cousin or other distant relative of James Potter who died before 1981. |

"Are you a wizard, or what?"
The title of this article is conjectural. Although it is based on canonical information, the actual name is a conjecture and may be supplanted at any time by additional information released from canonical sources. If this occurs, please move this page to the appropriate title. |
Charlus Potter's son was the son and only child of Charlus Potter and Dorea Potter.[1] He was a pure-blood wizard, and a first cousin of Walburga, Alphard and Cygnus Black.[1]
Behind the scenes
- It was once speculated that James Potter was in fact Charlus Potter's son. However, the actual names of James's parents, Fleamont and Euphemia Potter, were revealed via Pottermore.[2] In spite of this, it is still more than likely that Charlus might be a cousin of James Potter and his descendants.
- Ironically, although it was not James, this man was related to many of those close to Harry Potter, for instance, being a first cousin once removed of Sirius and Regulus Black and Bellatrix, Andromeda and Narcissa Black, and so a cousin of Nymphadora and Ted Lupin and Draco and Scorpius Malfoy respectively, a second cousin of Arthur Weasley, possibly a second cousin of Bartemius Crouch Snr[3] and his son, and a possible distant relative of Neville Longbottom.[4]
- If Harry really didn't have any living relatives other than the Dursleys by 1981, it can be assumed that Charlus, Dorea and their son were all dead by that date.
- This individual was not featured on the Potter family tree on Pottermore.
