" [...] they ripped through a tapestry and found themselves in a hidden passageway, hurtled along it and came out near their Charms classroom, which they knew was miles from the trophy room."
— The trio and Neville Longbottom running down this corridor at night[src]

The Charms corridor was a passage located on the third-floor of Hogwarts Castle, allowing access to Classroom 2E, a second classroom, and the third-floor corridor.[1] Behind a tapestry was a secret passageway leading in the direction of the Armoury and Trophy Room.[1] There was a picture of drunk monks near the corridor.[2]

History[]

"STUDENTS OUT OF BED! STUDENTS OUT OF BED DOWN THE CHARMS CORRIDOR!"
Peeves[src]

In 1991, Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger and Neville Longbottom found themselves in the corridor after running from Argus Filch, before running to hide in the third-floor corridor.[1]

In 1994, Harry followed Cedric Diggory and, upon realising that he was heading towards the Charms corridor, used the Severing Charm to rip his bag.[3]

When Dolores Umbridge became High Inquisitor, Minerva McGonagall, Filius Flitwick and Pomona Sprout met in the corridor to talk, as doing so in the staffroom was unsafe.[4] Harry later found Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington in the corridor and asked him about death.[5]

In 1996, the Fat Lady and Violet celebrated Christmas by drinking all of the wine in the picture of drunk monks located near the Charms corridor.[2]
