- "This snake, which may reach gigantic size and live many hundreds of years, is born from a chicken's egg, hatched beneath a toad."
- — Most Macabre Monstrosities[src]
Chicken's eggs are the most popular type of egg consumed by humans.[1]
History[]
A chicken's egg hatched beneath a toad would produce a Basilisk, thus turning it into a Basilisk egg.[2][3]
During the spring of 1995 at Easter, Molly Weasley sent Hermione Granger an Easter egg the size of a chicken egg, because she incorrectly believed Hermione was toying with the hearts of Harry Potter and Viktor Krum with love potions.[4]
