Chinese Chomping Cabbage was a magical plant that was presumably native to China. As the name suggests, it had the ability to chomp on foods, such as carrots.[1][2] It was also an ingredient required in the brewing of the healing potion Skele-Gro.[3]
History
During the 1988–1989 school year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Professor Pomona Sprout taught her fifth year students about these plants in Herbology class.[1]
In 1995, Hermione Granger copied a diagram of this plant for a homework assignment on potion ingredients, that was given by Professor Snape in her fifth year.[2]
Behind the scenes
- In the NDS and iPhone versions of LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4, Hermione Granger and Ronald Weasley have to catch a Chomping Cabbage in order to brew Skele-Gro.[3]
