Chinese New Year celebrations at Hogwarts
Chinese New Year, or Spring Festival, is a festival that celebrates the beginning of a new year on the Chinese lunar calendar.[1]
History[]
Robyn Thistlethwaite's family celebrated Chinese New Year. After Robyn began attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, her mother hoped that she could continue this tradition at school, and sent her a recipe for Singing Hot Pot so she could cook and enjoy it with her friends.[2]
Hogwarts also held Chinese New Year celebrations, including a banquet and musical performances at the Great Hall.[2]
