This chip shop was where Vernon Dursley bought a post-cinema snack during a date with his fiancée Petunia Evans in 1979. As they sat in Vernon's car eating battered sausage, Petunia confessed that her sister was a witch. Vernon was deeply shocked, but assured Petunia he would never hold it against her that she had a "freak" for a sister.[1]
