The Choctaw were a Native American people originally from the southeastern part of the United States (specifically the states of Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, and Mississippi).[1][2] They were forcibly relocated to what later became the state of Oklahoma along with several other Native American groups in the 1830s.[1][2]
