Ciarán Hinds (born February 9th, 1953) is a Northern Irish actor who will be portraying Aberforth Dumbledore in the upcoming film adaptations of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.[1]
Probably his best-known role in recent years is as Gaius Julius Caesar in HBO's historical miniseries Rome (one of Caesar's assassins, Cassius, was played by Guy Henry).
One of his other roles was in the Oscar-nominated film In Bruges, which starred other Harry Potter actors Brendan Gleeson, Ralph Fiennes, and Clémence Poésy.[2]
He also voiced "Botticelli," the lead antagonist of the 2009 animated film The Tale of Despereaux, with Emma Watson and Robbie Coltrane.
