Cinnamon is a spice obtained from the inner bark of several trees from the genus Cinnamomum that is used in both sweet and savoury foods.[4]
History[]
Cinnamon was used in potion brewing. It was kept with other potion ingredients in the Potions Classroom at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.[1] It was also a flavour of Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans.[5]
It is also a usual ingredient for Holiday Blancmanges, but could be substituted with other ingredients to produce a similar taste.[2]
Madam Rosmerta used cinnamon to make Christmas cake and egg-nog.[3] It was also possibly one of the ingredients in Penny Haywood's best-ever hot chocolate.[6]
