Kim Soo-hyun (born 25 January 1985), known professionally in the West as Claudia Kim, is a South Korean actress and model, who portrayed Nagini in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.[1]
Career[]
Kim had used the stage name Yoo Ri-el (유리엘), a transliteration of "Uriel" in her acting career, such as in the 2011 TV series Romance Town (Korean: 로맨스 타운),[2] but reverted to using her birth name later; by doing so, she shared the same name as both a well-known female writer and a male actor and many others, and later opted to go by just Soo-hyun (수현).[3]
For her role in 게임의 여왕 (lit. Queen of the Game; 2006–2007), Kim won the SBS Drama Awards (Korean: SBS 연기대상) for 뉴스타상 (lit. New Star Award). Kim then won the MBC 방송연예대상 (lit. MBC Entertainment Awards) for 우수상 코미디ㆍ시트콤 (lit. Excellence Award: Comedy, Sitcom) for her performance in Stand-by (Korean: 스탠바이; 2012).
Kim made her international debut in the Netflix series Marco Polo, in which she portrayed the Mongol noblewoman Khutulun, and made her voice-acting debut in the 2015 film Equals. She portrayed a seer in the 2017 film The Dark Tower.[4]

Behind the scenes[]
- Kim did not appear in Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore due to her pregnancy amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. She had mentioned the film was her next project before the pandemic; she was heavily pregnant by the time the film started production in September 2020 after a six month delay. She gave birth at home in Korea a few weeks later in October 2020.
- Claudia Kim and Toby Jones (voice of Dobby) have both portrayed characters part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, though their characters do not have overlapping appearances. Both characters were scientists who interacted with Captain America. Claudia as Dr Helen Cho and Toby as Dr Arnim Zola who served the Red Skull & HYDRA.
