Colour-Change Ink was a type of magical ink that switched[3] colour as one wrote.[1]
History[]
1991[]
In August 1991, while shopping for supplies for his first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry with Rubeus Hagrid, Harry Potter saw a bottle of this ink at Scribbulus Writing Implements, which helped to lighten his mood a little after an unpleasant first encounter with Draco Malfoy.[1]
1996[]
When Albus Dumbledore came to collect Harry Potter from 4 Privet Drive in the summer before his sixth year, he found that Harry had yet to pack his trunk, so Harry went to his bedroom to do so. One of the things he had to do to get ready was screw the lid back onto his pot of Colour-Change Ink.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
- It is possible that this ink was enchanted with the flashing paint charm.
- In Harry Potter Trading Card Game, the ink is named Colour-Changing Ink instead.[3]
