This letter was written by Professor Concordia Rowle to Professor Clodagh Dromgoole. They were discussing the research of a book that the History of Magic Professor Jakub Gorski had come across and had asked them and Professor Kate Brindlemore to help him research. They were trying to find a way to inform him that the book was actually a work of Muggle fiction and not a lost history.[1]
The letter was discovered by Tiburon Merriweather's great-grandchild, a student who attempted to deliver it to Professor Dromgoole, only for her to dismiss it as a prank. After showing it to both Professors Rowle and Brindlemore, only for them to similarly dismiss it, the student became concerned that the 'Forsaken Lord' discussed in the letter was actually Lord Voldemort and that the three Professors were Death Eaters. As the letter mentioned meeting Professor Gorski, the student brought the letter to him in the Three Broomsticks Inn, where they were confronted by the three Professors. The three Professors went on to explain that the book Professor Gorski had discovered was a work of Muggle fiction and that they had been trying to find a way to tell him, knowing how excited he got about these discoveries. Although disheartened, Professor Gorski realised his mistake and shared a Butterbeer with the other Professors in the Inn.[1]
Contents[]

Dear Clodagh,
I've arranged for him to meet us at the Three Broomsticks. At last, we near the end—however cruel it may be. 'Only one could survive the reckoning. Destiny had made its choice.' Such fitting words. Surely the Forsaken Lord will be the one remaining. I imagine you feel the same...but I digress.
Part of me wishes we could spare him this. But you know how suspicious he gets, especially after what happened with his little friend. (I still think he was adorable.) Kate says we should be direct. I disagree. There's no harm in letting things play out a little longer. Until then...
Keep it quiet. Concordia
