- "The sun shone brightly on a stack of cauldrons outside the nearest shop. 'Cauldrons — All Sizes — Copper, Brass, Pewter, Silver — Self-Stirring — Collapsible', said a sign hanging over them."
- — Description of Potage's Cauldron Shop[src]
Copper (chemical symbol: Cu) is a chemical element; a soft and malleable metal with a reddish-orange tarnish and very high thermal and electrical conductivity.[1]
History[]
Rubeus Hagrid owned a kettle made of copper,[2][3][4][5] which he normally stowed in the pockets of his coat,[6] as well as a large copper basin which he used as a container into which Ronald Weasley could burp slugs after being hit with his own backfiring Slug-Vomiting Charm.[7]
Potage's Cauldron Shop sold Copper Cauldrons[8] for a price of twenty-five Galleons.[9]
The taps of the sinks at the second-floor girls' lavatory at Hogwarts that concealed the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets were made of copper.[10]
Professor Trelawney also owned a large copper kettle, which she kept warming in the fireplace of the Divination Classroom, giving off a "heavy, sickly sort of perfume".[11]
Molly Weasley owned a large copper saucepan,[12] and there were copper pots and pans at 12 Grimmauld Place;[13] Kreacher hit Mundungus Fletcher over the head with a copper saucepan in 1997.[14]
The quills on display at Scrivenshaft's Quill Shop, in Hogsmeade, were all in copper pots.[15]
The boat at the lake in the Horcrux cave was tethered to land by an invisible, coppery green chain.[16]
Copper lamps proved warm light at Hufflepuff Basement, and copper bed warmers hung on the walls of the dormitories.[17]
