Corrupted goblins[1] were goblins that had gained corrupted ancient magic, absorbed it, and used it to make themselves more powerful.[2]
Description[]
Corrupted goblins appeared similar to how they were before the dark corruption, but their eyes always glowed an eerie red. In moments of fury or when attacking enemies, their bodies would briefly swell to twice their size, consumed by black energy that glowed red or gas-like reddish energy. This transformation increased their speed and strength, and made them even more dangerous.[2]
History[]
In the late 19th century, Ranrok led a goblin rebellion, and was determined to seize the power of the corrupted ancient magic. He discovered a fragment of this magic at Rookwood Castle and, eager to use it, divided it among his loyalists. The goblins who absorbed the magic adopted the powers of corrupted goblins.[3][4]
Afterwards, Ranrok discovered the final repository, containing an immense mass of corrupted magic. He absorbed it all and turned into a massive, dragon-like being made of dark smoke and red eyes, a direct reflection of the corrupted magic's hold on him. Luckily, a wizard stopped Ranrok, killed him, and either returned the corrupted magic to safe enclosure or absorbed it themselves.[5]
