This unidentified counter-curse (incantation unknown) was used to extinguish the flames created by the Fiendfyre curse.

History

Towards the end of the 1988–1989 school year, Professor Patricia Rakepick used this spell in Classroom 3C to immediately extinguish the Fiendfyre that Merula Snyde had created before it spread beyond control, when the latter tried to teach it to Jacob's sibling.

During the Skirmish at the Room of Requirement, Vincent Crabbe conjured Fiendfyre in an attempt to kill Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley in the Room of Requirement. However, he immediately lost control of the cursed fire and it began to spread uncontrollably, killing him before he could escape. Ron Weasley remarked that Crabbe had clearly not been paying attention when Dark Arts Professor Amycus Carrow taught him how to extinguish it.
