This potion was the counter-serum for Xeep's Luscious Locks Solution,[1] and counteracted the degenerative properties of Wampus cat tears, one of the ingredients in said solution, effectively putting a stop to the damage being done to the memories of those using it. The concoction only prevented the solution from affecting the drinker further, however, and could not restore their lost memories to them.[2] The potion could also give the drinker's hair the traits of the hair contained in the potion.[2]
History[]
During the 1990–1991 school year, Professor Severus Snape decided to make one for Jacob's sibling and Penny Haywood to help them with their Ministry assignment of restoring Garrick Ollivander and Madam Villanelle's memory loss caused by Xeep's Luscious Locks Solution.[1]
The three later completed brewing the counter-serum together in the Potions Classroom, during which Penny speculated that the potion would be finished with human hair to make the drinker feel better. Jacob's sibling and Penny then gave phials of the potion to Garrick Ollivander in his shop, along with others affected, to prevent them suffering any further memory loss.[2]
