This chess counter-strategy was invented by Jacob's sibling, Murphy McNully, and Aberforth Dumbledore to specifically counter the seemingly unbeatable Dragon Variation of the Slytherin Defence. It involved rushing the pawns to the other side of the opponent's board in order to counter the losses from the Dragon Variation taking the player's most powerful pieces[1]
History[]
During the 1988–1989 school year, Celine Castillon utilised the Dragon Variation of the Slytherin Defence during the Walter Aragon Wizard Chess Competition, enabling her to win the first round. After being informed of this by Murphy McNully, Jacob's sibling worked with Murphy and Aberforth Dumbledore to invent this counter-strategy, which they named either "Gagwilde's Return", "The [Jacob's sibling] Gambit", or "The Full Team Press". Jacob's sibling was later successfully able to employ this strategy to defeat Celine in the final round of the competition.[1]
