Crabbe was the surname of a pure-blood[1] wizarding family. Upon the death of Vincent Crabbe during the Battle of Hogwarts,[2] the family may have become extinct in the male line. They were related to the Black, Bulstrode and Rosier, Malfoy, Lestrange, Tonks and Lupin families, and more distantly to the Potter family.
The Crabbes tend to have prejudices against Muggles and Muggle-borns, like the Blacks, to whom they are related.[3] During the First and Second Wizarding Wars, they were allied with Lord Voldemort.[4] However, despite all this, the Crabbes were never listed in the Pure-Blood Directory, more specifically in the Sacred Twenty-Eight, the list of the twenty-eight "truly pure-blood" British families.
