- "With a sense that he’s been holding this one back, he slashes it through the air: Out flies a crackling rope of supernatural light that wraps itself around Graves like a whip. Graves tries to hold it off as it tightens, but staggers, struggles, and falls to his knees, dropping his wand."
- — Newton Scamander using this spell to disarm Gellert Grindelwald (disguised as Percival Graves)[src]
This spell (incantation unknown), summoned a crackling rope of supernatural light that could be used to bind a living target.[1]
History[]
In December 1926 in the subway of New York, Newton Scamander used this spell to bind Gellert Grindelwald, then disguised as Auror Percival Graves, when Grindelwald began to attack MACUSA Aurors, disabling him and causing him to drop his wand. Newt's swift use of this spell on Grindelwald allowed him to be exposed and arrested by the Aurors present.[1]
