A Crushing Cabinet is a torture device consisting of an iron cabinet in which a person is slowly crushed, as they find the walls, floor and ceiling closing in. The crushing walls are activated by closing the door shut.[1]
Behind the scenes
- This cabinet is named only in the script for the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
- Despite being identifed as a different cabinet in the film and video game, most fans believe that when Harry accidentally arrived to Borgin and Burkes by Floo Powder, he hid inside the Vanishing Cabinet later used by Death Eaters as an entryway to Hogwarts, and not the Crushing Cabinet from the film.
