Cursed socks were socks bewitched with all manner of curses and jinxes.[1][2]
History[]
During the 1986–1987 school year, Cecil Lee was brought in to replace a Gringotts Wizarding Bank Curse-Breaker, who was going to give a lecture on curse-breaking, but was hospitalised with an unknown curse. They provided Cecil with a cursed sock bewitched with the Dangling Jinx and Curse-Breaking instructions, but Cecil accidentally put the sock on himself and had to be saved by Jacob's sibling and Merula Snyde.[2]
During the 1991–1992 school year, a cursed sock that was bewitched to force its wearer to perform very silly walks was located and collected by an agent of the Rare, Obscure, and Confounding Case Division, who attempted to investigate it while Jacob's sibling and Ruby Honeysuckle examined the ink on Gringotts cheques for any sign of curses.[1]
