- — Description[src]
Curses and Counter-Curses was a book written by Professor Vindictus Viridian, which explained how to cast various dark charms, including jinxes, hexes, and curses,[1][2] as well as their counter-curses.
History[]
Harry Potter saw a copy for sale at Flourish and Blotts on 31 July 1991, and was intrigued by the thought that it might help him to curse his cousin, Dudley Dursley. Rubeus Hagrid dragged him away from it, telling him that he was not allowed to perform magic around Muggles, and that he was still too young to pull off such advanced spells.[1]
A copy was seen on a bench in the Great Hall during the 1991 Christmas feast.[2]
