Custard is a mixture of egg yolks and milk used primarily as a cream for desserts. It has existed in European cuisine since as long as Ancient Rome, and was particularly popular in the Middle Ages for the creation of custard tarts.[1]
History[]
Golden Dawn was a brand of custard powder available in the United States of America in 1926.[2]
At the 1992 Start-of-Term Feast at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, a custard tart was served, which Albus Dumbledore remarked as "delicious-looking".[3]
In 1995, Molly Weasley used custard with her rhubarb crumble at 12 Grimmauld Place.[4]
From 1996 onwards, Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes sold a Self-Propelling Custard Pie.[5] This pie was presumably bewitched to automatically throw itself at unsuspecting victims.
