Dagworth was the surname of a wizarding family of unknown blood status.[1][2]
History[]
Constance Dagworth attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the late 19th century, being sorted into Ravenclaw. She participated in the Crossed Wands duelling club. During the 1890–1891 school year, she joined Hector Jenkins and Nerida Roberts in duelling the new fifth-year student.[2]
At some point, the prolific potioneer Hector Dagworth-Granger founded the Most Extraordinary Society of Potioneers, in order to bring together all potioneers who had made a name for themselves in the field and to promote their interests. Horace Slughorn asked his student, Hermione Granger, if she was related to Hector, to which the latter replied that she most likely was not, as she was Muggle-born.[1] However, as Muggle-borns are generally distantly related to wizards, with their magic genes resurfacing after several generations, there may be a connection.[3]
